Seychelles

Seychelles is a country. Located 1,500 kilometers east of mainland Africa, Seychelles consists of 115 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean. It is the only place on Earth where granitic islands rise from the sea, featuring massive, smooth-edged boulders that absorb the heat of the 27°C equatorial sun.

Geography

The Mahé group contains 42 granitic islands formed 750 million years ago when Gondwana split. These islands feature mist-shrouded peaks reaching 905 meters at Morne Seychellois. History

On June 29, 1976, at midnight, the Union Jack was lowered for the last time at Victoria Stadium.
